February is the month of love and what better time to show your home a little TLC. With COVID and the cold weather, people have been staying home more. Being at home more means noticing more pests. This is a great time to enact some winterizing tips. This blog gives you some tips to help love your home again!

Firewood goes untouched for much of the year. This is a good time to clean up and move your wood pile. Store your firewood off the ground using concrete blocks, plastic pallets, bricks or other non-wood materials. Make sure that your firewood is kept away from the side of your home. If you have to keep it close, place it at least three feet away from the walls.

Cleaning! Clean the yard of weeds, leaves, etc. Remove debris from around the outside of your home. These are great places for pests to hideout. Regular cleaning inside also keeps it pest-free. Make sure that food is stored in airtight containers and counters are kept crumb free.

The doggie door lets in more that just your pets. I’m talking bugs, rodents or even your occasional racoon! Make sure to put the divider in before going to bed at night.

Check your crawl space! This is another area of the home that is rarely visited. Be sure to check the crawl space for spider or mice activity. If you are not comfortable doing it, let us do it for you!
